Seafly 151

Thought I would let you know about my Seafly. She is sail number 151 and I believe is the original design with no mast well and fully enclosed buoyancy chamber in the bow. I bought her approximately 5 years ago from someone near Highcliffe. I repaired a leaking hull and painted and varnished her, then pressures of work etc. meant she lay at the bottom of the garden until this year.

I have again stripped, painted her (red), and replaced more timber. I am currently working on the varnish to bring her back to presentable (not perfect), condition. She will be sailed at Weirwood reservoir (WWSC), near Forest Row East Sussex. She does not yet have a name. Incidentally, there is a fibreglass Seafly also at the club.

I learned to sail in a Seafly many (39) years ago on gravel pits in the Cotswolds which I believe are the Cotswold Water Park. I loved the boat then and can’t wait to get going again. I’ve put on a bit of weight since, so am hoping it’ll be even better!

Feel free to add my name to be contacted by other contributors.
