Seafly 252 – Skylark

Seafly 252 ‘SkyLark’ is an all wood dinghy with an aluminium mast built by Moores of Wroxham in the 1960’s. Last year I bought her off Tony Longworth in the Lake District and brought her back home to Edinburgh. She was in fairly good condition with sound timbers but just needed a bit of sprucing up so this last year I have been repainting the hull and sidedecks and revarnishing the foredeck, transom and the spars and foils. She has now had her first few outings and she is still a joy to sail. I plan to sail mostly on the Firth of Forth but also on some of the Scottish Lochs and in the Lake District. Unfortunately I do not know much about her past and I have not even found traces of an old name but Tony Longworth may know more.
