Originally built by Moore & Sons Wroxham (there is an identity plate inside the rear of the boat) in 1968 I think and I believe has only been used on fresh water. We bought this last year as a project to enable the family to participate in a sport. It is approximately 60% completed. We have completely stripped & marine re-varnished the interior and upper deck twice and & only needs 1 or maybe two further coats. The hull appears and checks out to be extremely solid and just needs the old paint to be stripped and repainted. All of the mast, boom, paddle, keel and other accessories have been stripped and been re-marine varnished.
The mainsail is in extremely good condition and also has a spinnaker. This boat is 40 years old, so as to be expected, does look in showroom condition but on close inspection appears to be structurally sound and any viewing is more than welcome. I believe that a final bit of tlc will bring this lovely dinghy back to life. All other fittings are available (that originally came with the dinghy). The only items that we believe aren’t available are the floatation bags. |
