South Devon BoatBuilders granted boat builder Harold Lang a licence to build the Seafly in Australia.  Situated in Sorrento, on the Mornington Peninsula near Melbourne, Lang produced his first batch of six boats in 1963. A second builder, Brian Lay (of Aurora Boats, Queanbeyan, New South Wales), was authorised in 1964.
